Printing Blocks

What caring for an object means to me.

Rustic, yet adored, my collection of printing blocks is passed down to me by maasi (aunt). They lie in a remembered wooden box, kept at the back of my almirah. We often use these to do 'activities' with my niece and nephew.
With the same we craft with care, our runners and suit dupatas that run with patterns in layers.

From some, I thought we could build something new, preserving our memories and tradition.

Aligning them, I decided to reuse these to assemble a tabletop, a reminder of our roots and the appreciation towards the collection.

Lukewarm water and mild soap was used to clean the blocks. I used a hard bristle brush to remove some of the remaining debri. Few tools, Elmer's glue, and our carpenter 'bhaiya' assisted in putting the glass top to cover the layer of blocks.

This is my way of showing care; honouring objects and their value with purpose.
